Innocent Noodle Pot - Vietnamese Curry


I've been a fan of Innocent Veg Pots for a while so I couldn't wait to try their take on a noodle pot. There were three varieties to choose from in my local Sainsbury's; Vietnamese Curry, Thai Tom Yum or Japanese Ramen. After reading the descriptions on both I decided to go for the Vietnamese Curry with it's "udon noodles and edamame beans in a gently spiced coconut sauce".


Each pot will give you two portions of your five a day and it's easy to see why when looking at the pot. It's full of brightly coloured vegetables such as brocolli, carrots, cabbage, peas, peppers, edamame beans and more.


Once heated up (4 minutes in a microwave) the colours all become much darker due to the tomato based sauce. The vegetables are all full of fresh flavour and retain a nice bite. The coconut sauce is absolutely delicious -. it's mildly spicy and also slightly sweet. The flavour is quite similar to the Innocent Carribean Jerk Curry pot which I reviewed here. The tasty udon noodles themselves make up only 17% of the ingredients but there's still more than enough in there to be satisfying.

I really enjoyed this Innocent Noodle Pot, it made such a quick and easy lunch (obviously not as easy as pouring water on a Pot Noodle but it's infinitely tastier!) and I'll definitely be buying more from the range.

Buy them again?: Yes and I can't wait to try the Japanese Ramen too.

  1. Hello. I'm surprised by your review as I've just tried the Vietnamese Curry noodles and thought they were horrible. However, the ingredients were very good, lovely fresh vegetables, cabbage, beans etc, were all good, as were the noodles, but the curry sauce tasted as if though someone had simply added some standard Sharwoods curry powder. There was no hint at all of coconut and I found the whole flavour overpowering and without any hint of sweetness. This is such a shame as it looks like all the ingredients are top quality, but whoever came up with the curry sauce has clearly never been near a Viet kitchen. I wonder if these will still be around next year?
